Maine Snowmobiling Groomer End of Year Summary

Hello everyone!

Its been a long snowy winter season living up here in the "Burg". Our average temp for the winter was 15.5 degrees, and a total of 221 inches of snow spanning the 102 days that it snowed.
Now that the winter is done and MUD season is here we are left with the daunting task of trail sign cleanup, trash cleanup, trail damage from spring floods, trail brushing, rerouts, groomer and drag summer maintenance and repairs, clubhouse and warming hut repairs, and start planning for next seasons events, activities, maps, and trailsystem ETC.

This years trail system held up very well, and we received a record number of great comments from avid riders stating so. THANK YOU! We all appreciate the comments, especially when you see some of the things that go on out on the trails while grooming. We were the first and last to groom again this season which gives all of our members and non members alike a longer season to enjoy their favorite hobby. This comes at a great expense to the club as we used many thousands of dollars in club funds over and above the state grooming contract making sure our trails were the BEST! The support of our members and groomer jar donations ETC. make it all possible. Please remember us again when membership renewals are mailed out, your support is greatly appreciated.

The last of the trails and gates were closed on Tuesday May 3rd, this was later than I can remember. Since I am too busy most of the season to ride I try to get the most out of spring riding, so I was among some of the last riders out, it felt great to ride!

As usual the club raffle sled was a great fundraiser and plans are already in the works for next seasons raffle sled. THANKS TO DASILVA MOTORSPORTS IN HAMPSTEAD AND MOULTONBORO NH FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT IN PURCHASING OUR RAFFLE SLED!

For all of our vintage race fans out there, planning is already in process for next season! This event takes the whole year to plan! This coming race season will be bigger and better than ever. We will be purchasing an automated scoring system to help with race day glitches, Also we will be adding another class STOCK UP TO 340 FREE AIR to 1974. There will be more changes so please stay tuned to the race website for more details as they get posted.

Again we would like to thank everyone who supports us from our volunteers to our club members, and the drop of a few bucks in the groomer jar.

Thanks Everyone, have a great summer and think snow!
Keith Landry club director and groomer coordinator.
